5 Ways to Make this Diwali Special
Diwali is the festival of lights. It is one of the most important Hindu festival. It is celebrated in every Indian household.
Sandesh For Soldiers
The Prime Minister of India launched a campaign called SandeshForSoldiers where by ordinary Indians can post messages of solidarity to the Indian Army, the Border Security Force {BSF} and the Central Reserve Police Force {CRPF}.
This way we can thank our jawans who are constantly fighting for our security and greet them while they are away from their family on duty.
Buy Earthen Diyas
Instead of spending money on fancy lights which consume electricity we can spend them in buying earthen diyas which are made by our Indian brothers to promote Swadeshi.
Protect Animals
Dogs and many other animals are sensitive to loud noise of crackers. They get scared and often get burnt or injured. Many are reported to die as well. Thus, we should take an initiative to save them by covering them with jackets, not burst crackers near them and if possible, not to burn crackers at all because they cause sound and air pollution as well.
Family Reunion
Diwali is a great chance to meet family and celebrate with them, share love, take blessings of elders, enjoy with young ones and revive old memories of togetherness with all.
Help the Poor
Many people who live on the streets can't afford to celebrate this festival. We should distribute sweets among them or give them blankets. After all, Diwali is all about spreading happiness.
