A free space
It can be a writer's or an artist's dream or their nightmare. Some of them do wonders when they don't
experience pressure, ideas flow easily when there are no restrictions. But, for some, it is just the
opposite. The former are comfortable to find a white wall and paint it while the latter need a piece to
continue from. This can be seen in our everyday lives as well. Some of us excel when we are left to
ourselves whereas, some need a gentle push. To find out which circumstances work best for oneself,
one needs to experience some exposure. Sitting inside our cocoon will not help. So go out there and find
which way helps you exploit the potential in you to the maximum.
The beauty of a free space is that it helps one to express what lies inside them without restrictions.
Usually, it is said that when a person is asked to paint on a blank wall, they paint out their emotions.
Hence, a free space can work as an outlet to one's emotion. But, when a person is filled with too many
emotions, a free space is overwhelming since they encounter a clash between which emotions to
project in what order. Similarly, when a person has difficulty projecting their emotions, a free space
doesn’t help them much.
Hence, more or less, a free space usually brings out the emotional or mental condition of a person.
Maybe that's why the status bars of Facebook and tweets in Twitter bring out the emotions of people
colorfully.
A free space can be easily compared to a technique which might be useful in the upbringing of a person.
For example, when you a given infinite number of blank sheets, it is your choice as to where to stop.
Similarly, when a person is given total freedom, they tend to set their own boundaries, usually. And a
bonus is that people tend to remain within self-set boundaries better than those set by others. But
when you set a topic, your options are limited. This means that people bring out their best when they
are free of restrictions. But sometimes, we don’t know where to place our boundaries. Hence, the word
limit in essays. So, is free space a boon or a bane?
