Many of us may have faced this dilemma, should I or should I not buy a Mac, should I just go with a normal Windows PC or should I opt for a Mac. There is no correct answer for this question, it varies from person to person, depends on their needs. So here's a list of pros and cons, hope you like it.
PROS
1.User Experience
Lets face it guys, its an Apple product. This is one of the main reasons why anyone would contemplate buying a Mac. Not that Mac hasn't done justice to Apple's name, in fact it has been on top of the customer satisfaction survey for more than a decade, which is no easy feat. Furthermore when considering looks, Mac is far more elegant, sleek and visually appealing in comparison to others.
2.Operating System
The operating system is a significant part that needs to be considered before buying a Mac or any other PC. Windows 8 failed miserably in terms of customer satisfaction as they tried to push towards touch based computing, though Microsoft made drastic amends in Windows 10 , which is turning out to be much better than its previous version, though it still has a long way to go. In contrast OS X El Capitan is far more clean, sophisticated and easy to use. Though if you were initially a Windows user, you might take time getting used to it. Furthermore upgrading to the latest OS is much more smoother in Apple, which provides free upgrade
3. Features
Continuity has made it possible to start a document or email on your iPad or iPhone and continue on Mac without syncing or saving anything to a cloud drive. This also applies for reminders, web searches etc. Every component is optimised for performance and to ensure that it requires less power. Mac include Thunderbolt, USB Type C ports, multi-touch trackpads, force touch, keyboard back lighting and more.
Mac has a built-in program called BootCamp that enables you to install Linux, Windows or any other operating system. Switching between operating systems is also very smooth in Mac. This whole process is much simpler in a Mac when compared to Windows.

4. Security
With Apple gaining substantial ground against Windows, there has been a rise in the number of cyber attacks, without an antivirus Windows is much more vulnerable to malware, viruses and spyware when compared to a Mac without an antivirus. For the time being Mac is still the safest platform, though it is advisable to keep in check your surfing and clicking behaviour, as a precaution.
5. Software and Display
PC’s have a variety of software packages available for pretty much any computer based task. Some can be downloaded for free, others available at a nominal fee, but in most cases they need to installed after the purchase of the PC. That is not the case with Mac; it comes pre-installed with numerous apps such as FaceTime, Garageband, Photos, iMovie etc. Furthermore you have the Mac App Store, from which you may download any additional apps you require. Macbook Pro sports a Retina display which boasts of anti-reflective coating and no air gap along with consistent performance in terms of DPI display.
CONS
1. Cost
Many feel that the price of Mac is much higher for what you get. But then again some say it is justified in regards to quality and support. Now for the same price you can get a Windows PC with much better hardware.
2. Gaming
Apple Mac offers a meagre selection of graphic cards. Often the same game will run better in a Windows PC{which has a decent graphic card} than in a Mac. So if gaming is a crucial point, then Mac is not for you. When you consider a Windows PC you have a variety of graphic cards to choose from depending on quality of game play you want.
3. Software
Windows app store has a larger number of apps when compared to Mac app store{though it's vice versa for a Windows phone and iPhone}. This provides users a wide range of apps to select from. Even the number of software available for Windows is much higher than that of a Mac. When it comes to accessories, windows users have more options. You can also stream Xbox or PlayStation games to Windows.
4. Not Configurable
Mac hardware is not meant to be tampered with. Internal storage is not easy to expand and battery is placed in a difficult to access location, thus making it difficult to replace. There is no Ethernet port and Apple seems to be reducing the numbers of ports day by day, in favour of sleek design. If you wish to upgrade the RAM then you need to pay extra when you purchase a Mac. Almost every component of a PC can be upgraded.
5. Selection
Worldwide the number of Windows PC’s exceeds the number of Mac's by a large margin, meaning you have a larger community for Windows, and you get more support for hardware and software. As PC’s have numerous producers worldwide, you get more selection and a variety in prices as well, which is not the case with Mac.
